Hi,

We received some bleed rings with scratches/scuff marks on the facing. Is there an acceptance guideline/criteria that can be used to accept or reject the bleed ring?

I know ASME PCC-1 gives guidelines for flange seating areas.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

PCC-1 would be a starter, but ultimately your purchase order and order confirmation will determine what the requirements are. If those documents haven’t specified such details, the supplier may have a point to reject any NCR on this subject. Next time, include details in your rfq if you haven’t done so.

Ps: I don’t know if any industrial standard (e.g. ASME Axx.yy) for bleed rings, I’ve been looking so long now I’m pretty sure they don’t exist

There are flange face requirements in B16.5 table 3
