Almost every company maintains some sort of basic engineering specification which is referenced on their detail drawings.

Question:
Does anybody work for a company whose engineering spec includes a reference to the maximum amount of residual magnetism allowed in a finished part or piece of raw stock?

Incoming raw material is specifed at 10 gauss maximum.
Finished parts are demagnetized to a maximum residual magnetism level of 5 gauss

ISO 3183-3 for linepipe demands a maximum of 3 mT (30 gauss) at the finished pipe ends.
