I am wondering if there is any polymer better than PVC for the following:
1) Direct digital print adhesion
2) Good tear resistance
3) Weatherability and wash and dry cycles.

Current material is 80 durometer Shore A PVC.

Probably not on a cost/lb basis.

PVC has very good chemical resistance (have you sniffed the cements plumbers use?!)

Also very good UV resistance as well.

Problem is that Greenpeace and Germany have decreed it (without much evidence)as a "no no".

Go figure...

Polyurethane or nylon or PET might qualify. All three have some ability to absorb dyes, so should be printable with the right inks and process.

PVC is brilliant stuff. It's a pity it's being picked on for containing halogens by the same idiots who faint when you tell them table salt is over 50% halogen.

That's the world we live in. Hearts trumps brains.

Sorry for the double posting, I was getting an error every time telling me it hadn't posted. Now I see it's here twice. Still, it amused Pat so no harm done!
