best way to reduce 200 bar to 100 bar? 1

Hello,

I am working on a project that uses the hydraulic pump of a tractor. The tractor has a openloop-system that has a pressure of 200 bar, with a flow of 52.5 L/min. I would like to power 2 hydraulic motors with a high RPM. I have 2 motors that have a working pressure of 100 bar each, that are otherwise perfect for the job. What is the best way to connect these to the system?

There must a position on the valve that keeps the cylinder still. That will be neutral.

What is the middle ground you mentioned? In the middle ground, what is the cylinder doing?

Some motors have inbuilt freewheel check valves.
 
Oops i was confusing 2 systems. I just checked it.

The main cylinder at the back of the tractor was the one i was thinking about first. Here the height can be controlled quite precisely, because this gets measured and the tractor knows how much more oil is needed to go to the position you gave it.

The connections we want to use for the motor uses a valve like you mentioned. It has 3 main slots where the lever can be placed. One is up, one neutral and one is down. If you place the lever between one of these positions the cylinder moves slower/faster, but the lever wont stick to this position. You have to hold it.
 
That makes sense

The tractor has position feedback for the rear cylinder from the sounds of it.

The force on the lever is the flow forces acting on the spool.

As discussed, that valve will need to allow the motors to turn when the valve is in neutral.
