Greetings-

New to the forums and not certain I'm posting in the right location but thought I'd give it a shot.

Working on a design requiring the ability to raise/lower a sizable Video Display Wall from a rolling (tubular steel) base frame. Consider this similar to a TV lift except considerably larger (110" diagonally) weighing approx. 300 lbs.)

Having limited time to explore my options, leaning towards linear actuators as a solution. Any advice to lend in finding a good company to turn to for both materials and advice? Is there a better choice for lift mechanisms than linear actuators?

Any input and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and looking forward to your feedback.

Simple fix if someone lost the remote. They could bring their garage door opener from home!!

Needs something a bit more elegant unfortunately. Compact, smooth & quiet operation is critical as is used in conference/board rooms, etc.

Thanks!

You don't provide much data with which to design a system (speeds & distance travelled, for instance, but also installation volume, power supply, and so on). The idea that popped into my head was a simple cable- or timing-belt pulley lift affair with torque supplied by a fractional horsepower gearmotor of some sort.

Tygerdawg-

Yeah, pretty vague I do admit. This one was thrown at me as one of those "we need it in a month at a trade show" type things so hammering away. Just limited experience in linear motion so was hoping for feedback from some "been-there-done-that" (or something even remotely resembling) types.

Thanks for your answer. I do appreciate all the feedback I can get.

Sorry, my opener is actually a chain drive and could be quiet, if need be.

Alternately, you might be better off with a scissor lift and a small drive motor.
