I want to create a plane which is best-fitted through a surface (which is nearly planar).
I found this thread quite useful, but I have NX7.5 (not NX8.5 for which the example was provided).
thread561-341626
My modified method was to:-
[ul]
[li]Insert>Datum/Point>Point-set...>Face Points[/li]
[li]Insert>Surface>From Point Cloud...[/li]
[li]Select Points, and set U-degree and V-degree =1. This creates a planar sheet body, from which a plane can be created using [/li]
[li]Insert>Datum Plane>...[/li]
[/ul]
Is this a good method? Is there any better way in NX7.5?

Cheers,
