I just started a new job working for a company that designs generator enclosures and fuel tanks (sheet metal drafting). I was wondering how to figure out the amount of material I need to remove/deduct in order to make a box out of sheet metal w one open end. I got the bend deductions down, but don't know the formula to figure out the amount of material I need to remove in order to bend the sides up to 90 degrees and have no overlapping/sloppy corners..

Is this right???
Notch = Flange(outer dimm.) - Bend Deuction - Percentage of material thickness and that should give ya a box at the right dimms.

Thanks for the help -Nick
