Bending Plate as Sheet Metal 1

I have a piece of square 1/4" steel plate that gets drilled, chamfered and bent on a press brake. I created the part as a sheet metal feature so that I could create a bend table and specify all the bend parameters. The bend lines go through some of the chamfered edges. Unfortunately, the bend/flatten features require a constant part thickness and yield errors if a chamfer is present.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem? Or, any ideas of another method to create the part? I need to be able to have bent & flat configurations with all typical bend parameters specified.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Could you create a 2nd configuration; suppress the chamfer feature, un-suppress the flat pattern feature, and add a new chamfer feature?

If you drag the chamfer feature below the Flat-Pattern feature in the model tree then the chamfer will show up when the part is flattened. It will, however, be supressed with the flatpattern feature when the part is displayed bent.

Use the "unfold" feature.

1. Insert "unfold"
2. Insert "extruded-cut" and sketch the chamfer normal to
the flat
3. Insert "fold"
