Hi
according to the API 1104 : Root and Face Bend tests shall be replaced by Side Bend tests for wall thickness greater
than 12.7 mm.
what is the reason of this change?

One reason is that material thicker than 1/2" is difficult to bend. The standard thickness of a bend strip ( width) is 1/2".
