I am a little confused about the bellows expansion joint spring rate.

What really is the ANGULAR spring rate?
Does a Lateral movement affect or create an ANGULAR movement?

Thanks for your time

Hello All,

K.S. Taylor provided and excellent answer to this question on the Eng-Tips Piping board. I assume Nukie has seen it but I mention it here in case the reader would want to find it.

Regards, John.

Hi all,
I'm new here and have only been logged on since this week.
Where can I find these Tip Boards?

Please refer to EJMA standard for good details on the subject.

Hi jmagee - this is the ASME board. Look on the right, and you'll see "Related Forums". Piping, heat transfer, etc. There must be several hundred boards on this site, covering just about every type of engineering you can imagine. Valves, pumps, electrical, chemical, civil, it just goes on and on.

You can wind up spending a LOT more time on this site than you really should :)
