Hi all,

I am a little bit confused regarding the behaviour of springs in mechaism.

When considering a simple spring mass system, and enabling gravity, the dispacement in the defined spring (with thespecified K value)is as per my theoritical calculations because of which I can assume that the force induced in the spring is agreeing with my theoritical calculations. But when considering the following example, upon enabling gravity, the behaviour of spring is not as per calculations. When no force applied(with gravity enabled), lever 1 must not swivel as per the calculation. But, in dynamic analysis, when gravity is enabled, lever 1 swivels even without application of force.

Gravity is enabled verically downwards. Why is it so?

Regards,
Shankar
