At a recent ALMS race I had the opportunity to see the front suspension of the C5R Corvette and the Lambo Murcielago R-GT. Both use CNC machined aluminum upright that seem to also house hub bearings. The carbon brake rotors were very close to the outboard face of the uprights in both cases so it was difficult to get a clear view of the design details. Is anyone familiar with how the wheel bearings are retained in the uprights? Does anyone know what bearings are used? I'm assuming that the design is similar to what is used in TransAm cars. Detailed information and images/sketch is what I am after if anyone out there has them.
Thanks,
