Can anyone please direct me to the paper by Meyerhof (1957) "The Ultimate Bearing Capacity of Foundation on Slopes". The bearing capacity factors in most literatur I have found refers to this paper. The vertical axis of the graphs included in this paper are non linear. I am trying to find out how to interpolate between values.

Thanks.

Check the Proceedings of the 4th ICSMFE, London, 1957, Vol 1, pages 384-386. I have the proceedings but they are in deep storage some 14,000 km from where I am presently. Sorry.

The problem is I do not have access to the proceedings and I searched online but didnot find it anywhere.
Can anyone please forward me a copy of the paper.

And thanks BigH for the info.

If you are in a university in USA, Canada or Britain which has a good geotechnical department, they will probably have the proceedings. There are some libraries out there accessible in cyberspace (many of which have been identified in earlier threads - any help guys/gals??) - and you can then get the paper from them.

Linda Hall Library will get you what you want for a price.

Interlibrary loan at most libraries can usually get these things. I use the Virginia library and it works great!
