I am looking for a decent beam analysis software package to replace our old software that is no longer usable due to modern operating systems. I did find a good package called STEELbeam v6.0 but the vendor ( appears to be out of action and STEELbeam is unavailable. Essentially we are looking for something that has at least the following functionality:
- Continuous beams
- Tapered beams
- Elastic supports
- Decent graphical user interface
- Moment loads, concentrated loads, UDL's
- Bending, shear, deflections, stresses

I am also looking for a decent 2D frame analysis package if anybody has any recommendations. We used to use TurboFRAME but that is a 25 year old DOS package that won't work easily with Windows 7 or later.
