Please comment on proper assumptions of chevron brace beam columns. I have 12" beams with roof trusses at 2' o/c. Should the LY=2' for the bottom flange or the entire beam length? Where I have a chevron brace beam column with a sheathed truss runnung in the same direction, would LY be the entire length? How do you get to Yura's 1999 papers on AISC bookstore? I tried to access them but could not find them. Many thanks!!

For axial force, I would assume Ly = the entire length of the beam. For bending, I would assume the same thing, and take advantage of the Cb factor.
