Dear all,

I am new to signallying and rf and now need to study the feasibility of guided wave in conductor. Do you have information, experience or applications about guided wave radar or microwave in cable, wire & phone lines? My concern is the range, signal-to-noise and power requirement of transmitter. Thank you in advance for sharing.

What is ususlly used is a conductor covered in a thick dielectric layer and with conical launchers at each end. The wave front surrounding the wire travels faster in the air than in the dielectric. Only very large radius bends are practical as the wavefront will break away at the bend.
