What is the reason for fixing on two adjacent columns to bridge the EJ. ? Why not fix only one of the columns ? Provide more info to get more valuable responds..

@HTURKAK

The structure is 3d truss should be fix in that position and they are around 10 3d trusses with certain distances due to shape requirement so any change in distance will affect shape finally

I don't understand the function of the slots. It does not seem for erection purpose, what is the slot for?

I think you need to draw sections in order for people to understand. There are too many lines, which can form different options.
Is that plate A can slide from/into plate B as shown below?

Slots are useless... baseplate is going nowhere. If using stiffeners, then flare bevel welds into the corners of the HSS... too difficult to easily analyse the effect of stiffeners on the face of HSS tubes, and stiffness of the connection is reduced.

Mohamed,

Looks like there are quite a few things/items under the column base, it is not wise to comment until things are made clear. I guess you have an expansion joint on the floor that the column is sitting right on it. It is not impossible to make a movable joint as you had in mind, but at least needs some carefully though through modifications. Without other things get in the way, I think you will need a sliding-bearing pad under the column baseplate to avoid locking of the sliding plane. I'll also suggest the long slot holes are better made on the plate below, the reason is that the code now requires a full sized plate washer to cover the slot to avoid corrosion, if the slot is made on the outer ply of a connection. IMO, the outsized plate washer tends to restrict the mobility of the joint. Let us know, if this fits your need.

Yeah, never seen it before. There must be a reason, I could be guessing wrong, let's see.

Suggestion: provide a plan view of the structure showing expansion joint and column locations.

BA,

They are shown on the OP's second upload. Or you mean entire floor plan?

@retired13 & @BAretired

the base plate will not support on floor but on side of two columns, kindly find the attched plan for one of the 3d trusses. and plan for old detail which will be changed to use box instead of cleats then box will be supported on base plate withh slots from side and other side is normal anchors.

The attachment contains nothing. Please re-upload.

@retired13,
I wanted to get an idea about the whole structure. I don't believe the baseplate with slotted holes can be done, or perhaps I should say, if done will not work as intended.

@Mohamed Maher,
I can't download the latest file entitled 2-plan elevation.pdf. Not sure what is wrong.

It still isn't working properly. If I remember correctly, the upload site isn't a huge fan of spaces or extra characters in the file name. You can use underscores but not spaces.

It accepts it yes, but when I try opening it, it's just a blank screen
