Hello, I am using API guidance to design a series of raking piles for an offshore platform. The piles are inclined at 12.5°, however, I am not aware of an inclination factor that should be applied to the end bearing resistance of a piled foundation. Is there any other guidance out there?

To note, I am not considering any environmental loading on the pile at present, it is a preliminary design.

I've never heard of inclination factors for deep foundations. The "failure" mode is quite different. One caution is to ensure that your piles' virtual extensions above the platform do not intersect at the same point - else you may find your structure "turning".

Interesting BigH. Never thought of that.

And I can see that happening. Good point.
