Does anyone have any experience with river restoration and identification of bankfull discharge downstream of a dam? Or know of any reference or studies completed regarding the influence of a dam on bankfull discharge due to flow reduction and sediment starvation. I have a project of a 700 foot stream reach immediately downstream of a dam pegged for restoration. For reference, the dam attenuates discharge of the 1-year return period theoretical storm from 1,300 cfs to 80 cfs. The dam was constructed in 1970 and recently upgraded.
