Hello,

Looking for a source for a split ball and socket o-ring. 1/8" diameter nom. dimension for a 5-1/8" shaft diameter. Needs to be fda approved EPDM and or FKM. It does NOT need to be white.

Thanks for your help,

MECOMAN

The only company that I have heard of that made such an o-ring was Chesterton. It was used in their split seal design in the late 1990's. I don't know if they still use this design or not. You should contact someone with Chesterton to see.

Hello gentlemen...

I can confirm that Chesterton still uses the "ball and socket o'ring" on all split mechanical seals, but for some reason it is NOT available for individual purchase.

I believe you will find that this o'ring will be rather difficult to find, as Chesterton still owns the patent.

Greetings, there is a company in Florida that sells by the ea. the split o rings, the size you are looking for is listed as a (dash) - 42 o-ring. you can contact them at 863-425-9611 to help
