We have a MV switchgear with a Main-Tie-Main configuration.

The connected loads are such that it cannot be balanced (Amperes) between Bus A and Bus B.

What if we cannot balance out the loads between Bus A and Bus B? Are there any issues with it?

The big issue is the complaints of the people who see the amp readings.

As long as you don't overload either source, or overload the bus and tie breakers, there is no problem.

If there are equal size transformers feeding each bus, unbalanced loads will result in higher total transformer losses.

Operation is normally with an open tie, right?
