For sprinkler systems with a backflow preventer (most have a double check type if not a RPZ type) do you put a hose connection in to facilitate forward testing? (NFPA 13 07 24.2.5)

We require a means built into the system to flow the demand

Normally it is a tee piped to outside with normally closed valve

Some allow flipping of the check in the FDC

Yes the flow should be equal to the highest sprinkler demand and hose streams if downstream of the backflow device. Depending on the flow it can be a test header such as a fire pump is tested, to just a main drain from the sprinkler riser.
