Backfilling an existing Trench with Concrete

I'm working on a project where we are designing new rollover curbs on top of existing paving to as part of containment etc...

There's a 5' long portion of an existing reinforced concrete trench running perpendicular to the curbs that we'll have to cross over and will need to backfill with a water stop. I haven't ever backfilled an existing concrete trench, is this something as simple as roughening up the existing sidewalls/lower portion and applying a bonding agent before pouring? I haven't had any luck finding any type of information on the subject.

Define a concrete trench. Do you mean a "U" shaped concrete trench possibly for carrying storm water? "Open to air?"

Correct, storm water trench. 12" wide by 6" deep on average with reinforced walls.

Not enough room to get a drill to put any dowels per say...

use CLSM
its not structural, so no roughening, bonding or dowels are required
