As referred to B31.8, Chapter IV, 840.21, for determine location class of pipeline, it defines the lay-out along the pipeline route to be a Zone of 1/4 mile. Does anyone has idea the reason for this specific figure, why not they bring the pipe size, volume, designed pressure to be in our consideration. Safety Reason?, Any Referenced or researched Risk Assessment?
