Hello,
Can someone explain the axis intersection symbol present in NX9 to me or point me to some literature about it? i could not find any information online.
I also have a doubt about the attached image. They have given a datum with brackets (neither NX9 nor CATIA accept it so I am assuming it's non standard) But is it legitimate GD&T? What does it mean?

It seems that the datum is to be considered reference, but does not follow Y14.5 in that you can repeat a datum as many times as required without making it reference.

Also per Y14.5 they don't use numerals for datum features.

Could be lame attempt to create datum target?

Either way, right now it doesn't mean anything.

Thanks for the replies
They have used the datum as a regular datum and even called it in several FCFs, and there are other instances where they have used datum target notations for datum targets, so I guess that's not the case here.

Can someone shed some light on the new symbol in NX9 (Axis intersection)? I have attached a screenshot for those not familiar with NX9. All of us are puzzled here.

Is your CAD system set up to regional standard like Japanese JIS or Russian GOST? I know you can do that in SolidWorks.

Yes, we use DIN standards, if it matters.

I checked with our SolidWorks station, the "axis intersection" symbol only appears when system is set to Russian GOST standard. I figure it is different in NX.
