We are welding pier brackets and thought D1.1 was the governing code. Is this correct or is D1.5 correct.
These brackets will be bolted to the piers.
Thanks Guy at Taylor Devices

D1.1 is Structural Welding Code - Steel

D1.5 is, you know, Bridge Welding Code

Which Authority will certify your welds? But did you look if there are any substantial differences in requirements?

I have a dumb question--what's a pier bracket?
