Hi all,

This is a long shot, I know.

I'm a Forging Tooling Designer in the automotive industry.

We currently use the BS 4114 (DIN 7526) standard for calculating the forging's tolerances.

These are currently calculated by hand using an antiquated slide rule or handbook reference.

Im looking for a program that will automatically calculate these tolerances according to the standard - either a stand-alone program or a plug-in for either Cadkey or SolidWorks.

If anyone has heard of something like this, your reply will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You should try out the TCE software offered by CapraTechnology. This software will calculate capable tolerances for many manufacturing processes. Go to for further info.
