Automated Flame-Cut Finish

Hi,

On manufacturing drawings, what would a general note "Automated Flame-Cut Finish on edges" mean? When would this apply?

Machinery's Handbook shows a finish of 250-2000 micro inches for flame cut surfaces. With proper machine set up and control, a flame cutting machine would produce a finish near the low end of that range, i.e. 250-500.
