AutoCad - Weight and Mass calculation

Is there a way to compute weight and mass in AutoCad without having a solid model of the object? Or do I need to redraw the object in Mechanical Desktop as a solid model and do the calculations there? Thanks.

Massprop gives you some properties, but you have to supply the density of the object. Autocad only does the length units and it's derivatives.
