AutoCAD to SE?

Is there a way I can transfer a profile drawn in AutoCAD v2004 to SE v15 to be protruded?

Export it as a dxf file and then import that into SE and extrude.

You can open the dwg or dxf file with solid edge when opening it in draft then you can use the create 3D features in the tools menu.

Hmm, I tried both ways, but for some reason, I couldn't get them to work for me. I finally opened the DWG file in draft and just copied the drawing profile and pasted it into the reference frame for protrusion in the part function. Seems to work this way.

For the Create 3D command to work you have to go in "draw in view" mode or in the 2d model tab. then after clicking on the Create 3d command you have to select each view (if you have more than one) beginning with the front view and then you click ok. This should bring you in a .par or .psm files (you can select the template) and the sketch should be there.

Ok, I see I was missing a few steps. I tried it again and it worked this time.
