Just been upgraded to a better machine, however the OS is windows XP. Does anyone know how I can get my AutoCAD Mechanical Destop 2000 to work on it?

Regards,

Paul

Have you contacted Autodesk or your reseller?

Dear pclegg25,
As I heared, all users of AutoCAD Mechanical and Mechanical Desktop have a lot of problems with Windows XP.

try to use AutoCAD2002, it will be ok.

Easy Solution .... run Program Compatibility Wizard, found in the WinXP start menu. Choose Win 2000 mode. Select "setup.exe" on CAD CD and you should have no problems.

don't bother I haven't managed to make it work on XP, I had to upgrade my version of Autocad.

Sorry people, don't know what all the smoke is about, I am using Acad 2000 in a XP OS without any problem. Installed Acad as though it was made for XP and presto no problem.
Much to the contrary of others I am also using Norton 2003.
