I have been experiencing the inevitable disappearing cross-hairs when working in 3D model space. It happens with various drawing files, always after working for a while in the model, and always with a Visual Style of Conceptual or Realistic. I've observed no particular trigger that causes this to happen.

Running AutoCAD 2012 under Win 7 Pro, Nvidia Quadro 2000 video card, 16 MB RAM. Just updated the Nvidia driver tonight so we'll see what happens over the next few hours.

Just curious if anyone else has found a solution to the problem. Apparently this is a common issue that Autodesk knows about but is not working to resolve.

It doesn't get any better with V2013 or V2104. Conceptual and Realistic are both resource pigs. They are rendering on the fly and using that much computer power every time you move the mouse takes its toll. I've set my isolines to a really big number and work in wireframe. Then I go to one of the shaded styles in the layout (I use CadWorx for most of my 3D and I hate the color they assign to ANSI 300 components, so I usually convert to shades of gray, but it has all the same issues as conceptual and realistic). This works for me. If you don't use layouts then it is a pain to remember to go to one of the fancy views for output only.
