I have been an AutoCad user since R12, but only in 2D. Also I only use AutoCad as a tool in my toolbox to help communicate my design intent for my engineering tasks, although sometimes I create finished drawings. I admit I am not an expert in AutoCad. I typically learn only what I need to get my engineering designs into an understandable format.

My question concerns the block editor. I am fairly adept at creating blocks and using refedit to edit blocks in place, but I see that somewhere along the space-time continuum between R12 and 2007 AutoCad has added the block editor function. Or maybe it was there even in R12 and I didn't know it.

Here is my specific question. For those of you who know both the block editor and refedit, what are the advantages of using block editor? Reading your feedback of the benefits will help me to decide if I need that additional functionality in my toolbox.

Best regards,

Okay, thanks for the suggestion. I have not used dynamic blocks before, so I will research them. If I can use dynamic blocks for what I do, then I definitely need to sharpen up on block editor.

Best regards,
