We all know of the standard 3 views button, but is there a way for solidworks to automatically generate them? I would like to put it in the template so this happens. Thanks

Just received this from my VAR
" I will submit this to solidworks on your behalf. The workaround is to edit the table setting then toggle off attaché to anchor then toggle it back on. It will snap to the anchor point of the new format. Just seems to me like they are not recalculating this."

Seems to be an issue with SW.

VAR just emailed me stating that the problem also exists in SW 2008.

Now I have to have 8 designers double clicking the attach anchor button to "refresh" it when changing sheet sizes for every drawing. Ugh. I hope SW finds a fix to the problem.

Here's something that I haven't seen addressed yet. The .drwdot is the first sheet, all other sheets are from a .slddrt file. You can not store predefined views or tables in the slddrt. You can store any notes, and any table format (sketches)in the sheet format

We recently just hit all of our ISO certification stuff and I had to due the sheets. I couldn't rotate the revision table 90 deg to fit in our title block so I made a hand sketched revision block and added $prpsheet notes to pull the revision information from the parts and assemblies.

I also recommend inserting a blank isometric view versus a projected isometric view.

^ ahh. So if I am understanding that right you made your own sorta block for the table.

Only downside I see with that is losing the ability to "Add Revision" and have the ballon automatically pop up.

Arcticcatmatt,

I've always seen that problem with losing anchor points as you have described.

arcticcatmatt,

Thanks for the feedback. I have never needed to change sheet size once a revision table was in place, so had not seen that problem before. I just did some tests with SW08-SP4 and now see the problem.

Just found this in the SW KB.

SPR 199950: revision table anchor points are not remembered if the Drawing sheet size is edited.

Customer Status: Closed (Inactive)

Anyone know what the "Closed (Inactive)" means?

[cheers]

^ What is the SW KB? How did you find that? Neat!

Sucks that its closed.. IT ISN'T FIXED! :)

SW KB = SolidWorks Knowledge Base

It can be accessed from the SW Customer Portal.

[cheers]

^ Thanks. I will have to check that out when I am not getting whipped here to hit impossible deadlines.

I want to thank everyone for the contributions to this thread. I fixed my long term lost anchors problem and can now start using standard revision tables in all my drawings.

^ If you find a fix to make it remember the anchor location when you switch drawing sheet sizes let me know

Just had this pointed out to me.
