Hello All,
Good Morning

I have an issue with hole alignment in between the child parts in an assembly in UGNX. I need your help on this.

Problem statement:
Let us assume, I have two fabrication parts(FAB1 of quantity 1 & FAB2 of quantity 4) that called out in an assembly, these four FAB 2 parts were mounted on FAB 1 using fasteners like shown in the attached image. Now, I want to change the position of yellow parts in the x-axis. In regular practice, I will make two changes: one, I will move the yellow parts to my requirement. Two, I will edit the cutout and hole locations on the base plate to match with the yellow parts.

1) Is there any way in NX that it will automatically update the hole locations on the base plate according to the component movement. (per attached image)
OR 1) Apart from constraints, is there any way that alerts us regarding the misalignment of holes between components in an assembly? Please advise!

Please help me on this.
Thanks in advance for your time and support

Thanks & Regards,
Sam

Link the yellow parts "hole and boss" geometry to the Blue part using the Wave Linker.

Build the Blue parts slot and hole feature locations off that Wave Linked geometry.

Move the Yellow parts and the linked geometry will follow it.

There is a add on program called DFMPRO. This program looks for these kinds of issues plus a slew more. It is very nice for what it can do.

Thanks for your response Dave.

Can you please elaborate the procedure?
