Dear all,

can someone help me to understand which are the main differences between the AUSTRALIAN CODE AS 1210 and ASME Code?
Can the Equipment designed and manufactured per ASME Code be in compliance also with AS1210 Code??

Is the ASME Code acceptable i lieu of AS 1210??

Which of these two Codes gives huge thicknesses??

What about the certification of TPA ? If the Equipment are ASME Code stamped, is this enought to avoid the approval of an additional australian TPA??

Many thanks in advance for your kind attention and help.

We had some vessels designed and manufactured to ASME a year or so ago and we had to have the designs checked/ approved by a local authority in Australia.

The only design change they made was to the hydro test pressure.

We used HSB both in the USA where the vessels where fabricated and also in Australia where the vessels where installed.

Also you may have to be a little careful as there are different requirements for the different states in Australia, especially when it comes down to registering the vessel for use which you and you customer will need to do. I would recommend talking to someone like HSB where you are based and see what they say.
