Has anyone detailed this? Got a bearing wall situation where the client wants to use steel studs (with parapet) at the exterior walls, but still wants exposed wood roof framing. I am envisioning using smaller bolts through the ledger into the studs for bearing, blocking for lateral transfer to shearwall. Any pitfalls you ran across?

I would infill the steel stud wall with wood 4X6 studs every 2 to 4 feet or so for the logs/bolt attachment from the ledger. Your client is not a structural engineer - you are - you make the call. That's what he is paying you for.
