Hi everybody,
I've found a HP pavilion DV5027EA with AMD sempron 3.3 ATI Mobility Radeon xpress 200 graphic card, 80 GB hard disk, 1 GB ram, dvd writer for 999

Giorgio,

I am not sure. I bought an HP DV8500NR with a 2 GHz AMD64 Turion
and ATI Modility Radeon Xpress 200. It is a 128 MB card and is
integrated on the board. Not a big deal, since it is a laptop
and the video memory is 128MB dedicated.

So far, it performs pretty well. I have not run Pro/E on it, but
have run AutoCAD and GTA San Adreas and they run okay. Not
desktop performance, but will do okay for the mobile modeler.

I think the Sempron is the lower end AMD chip, and I have not used one.

Thank you very much !

I don't know if any of you ever read Maximum PC, but they had a great
article in this month's issue. They show you how to BUILD A
LAPTOP!!!

They built a $1,500 laptop that was on par with a Dell $2,500 one.

Real nice too, with many options only available on high end laptops.

If you get a chance, pick up the issue. Their web site is www.maximumpc.com, but I don't know if the article is online.

Later,

Jim
