I am requesting a cross reference for motor classification as follows: Class I Division II Gas Group C,D T3. What would be the Proper Atex rating for the aforementioned classification. Is it imperative that I know the gas or can this be determined with the rating listed above?

I believe you would need to know the gas. I don't think there is direct correlation between the North American and European classifications although there are broad parallels.

The easy one, T3 indicates a maximum surface temperature of 200 deg. C
The Canadian Electrical code has a cross reference table.
You have to know the gas.
Some group C gasses are group II A and some are group II B.
Some group D gasses are group II A and some are group II B.
