I tried to get a response in another forum but to no avail (thread177-137470). I'd like to find out what the main differences are between piping (specifically as it relates to wet pipe fire sprinkler systems) manufactured in accordance with ASTM 135 vs ASTM A53. ASTM A135 is commonly used for sprinkler piping but would there be advantages to going with ASTM A53 pipe? By advantages I am not referring to cost but rather performance or physical characteristics such as strength, wall thickness, corrosion resistance, etc.

Any thoughts?
