Is there anyone that can clarify the difference between ASTM A 105 (Forgings, Carbon Steel, For Piping Components) and ASTM 234 (Piping Fittings of Wrought Carbon Steel and Alloy Steel For Moderate and Elevated Temperatures). To me wrought and forged mean the same, am I mistaken. Sorry if this seems too fundamental, I'm still doing my schooling.

Wrought and forged are not equivalent terms. You have various methods to work material into wrought form or shape to achieve the necessary work reduction ratio

forging
rolling
cold hammering
extruding
etc
