Hello All,

Thank you everyone for your quick response. I have question regarding assigning shell thickness from the available components.
Is there any macro or short cut for finding thickness from available geometry and assign to respective component.
I would appreciate your thoughts.

Kind regards,

If you create shells from solids, you can select Thickness —> Assignment: From geometry when assigning shell section to the part. Abaqus will automatically calculate thickness based on underlying solid geometry. To edit this automatic assignment use Assign Thickness and Offset tool. But if your solid parts are in separate model or you need more control over the thickness determination then you will have to use Python scripts.
