I am trying to run a simulation for joining two metal parts with an adhesive. The issue i am finding is that when i try to run the simulation i get the error '10 elements have missing property definitions'. I have tried to solve this in a number of ways like ensuring the section is assigned to the same part as the mesh and re-assigning the section and the mesh but the only thing that works is by not using cohesive elements. Evidently as i am trying to model an adhesive joint this isn't possible but i am struggling to see a way around this. Any help would be great, below is the method i have used to assign the property and the mesh.
Create material
Create a solid, homogenous section
Assign the section to the set labelled 'adhesive' (this is the adhesive part)
Seed the adhesive part
Change the mesh type to Cohesive - all other settings in this are left the same, (i have tried with both standard and explicit element libraries and the result is the same)
Apply the mesh
Run - aborts due to error mentioned above
Change mesh type to 3D stress
Run - job completes
Any help would be brilliant as this is getting fairly fustrating!
