Hello Everybody!

Is it possible to assign different material to the same part in different steps.Or it is always required to make a new part.
I would be grateful for the suggestion.

madhavi27,

I do not understand why you need to change materials in steps. It would be easy to build another model with the different material. Will it work for you?

Hi madhavi27,

I dont think it is possible to assign different material properties to the same part in different steps. For certain material properties a work around is to have a temperature dependent material property defined and change the temperature of the part in the different steps. The temperature change of the part can be specified within a heat transfer analysis. These temperatures can then be read into a structural analysis by way of a predefined field.
