Hi NX'ers

I know there has been a few posts around this topic in the past, but would anyone happen to know what to add to the physicalmateriallibrary.xml so that when a material is assigned, a colour is also applied to the part. Please note that I don't mean materials that relate to rendering, I mean the physical materials and the colours would just be assigned by adding the number as detailed in the colour pallet when changing a parts colour using edit > object display. I have seen it done a while ago when I was with a client, but I can't remember what they added to the .xml file. This relates to NX12

Best regards

Hi Jerry

I saw that already and it doesn't really give me what I need. I want to be able to go tools> materials > Assign Material and when I assign Steel to a part, it sets it's color to 171 (medium midnight) and when I assign stainless steel to another part, it assigns color 50 (ash grey). I have seen this done by simply adding something to the physicalmateriallibrary.xml file but I never got the details of how to do it.

Many thanks for the reply though.

Best regards

Si
