Assembly "Reveal" - Injection molded part design

I am needing some design recommendations for creating a reveal. This is the gap that is used to hide tolerance differences when surfaces on a plastic assembly come together at a seam. Are there other names for this? What is a typical recommended groove size? Should you round the top edge of the reveal? Design input and tool maker input is appreciated.

Usually I make reveals 1/2 thickness deep and 1/2 T wide.
