assembly of assemblies

Hello

I'm sure this has been gone over before, but i can't seem to find it here or with google - so perhaps someone will be kind enough to point me in the right direction:

If i have several assemblies which have parts that can move relative to eachother (lets say i've drawn some bearings, sleeve, race, balls and all), and i want to include these parts in a final assembly, when i insert the first assembly, i cannot move its components from within the larger assembly. I must go to the smaller assembly to move things around. obviously, this is impractical.

I am using solidworks 2008.

In the tree manager, RIGHT click the assembly. Choose Component Properties. In the dialog box, set the options fore Solve as to Flexible.
