how to do a extrude (not extrude cut) in assembly mode itself

if we have a assembly & to any one of it's part we want to add suppose a solid cylinder in assembly mode itself .how to do this with extrude command available in assmbly mode.

Hi anand,

first you must create component in assembly mode. Type: part, creation method: create feature.

You can create part features in assembly mode. Just pick the part, right click & select activate. Now you are working on the part while in the assembly. Just be careful what you reference!

It is as real life: you cant add material to a assembly without adding a part, but you can cut (machine) on an assembly

If you do this its a wise idea to check your references while your in the sketch mode. To do the just look at your sketch pull down menu choose references. In the pop-up box if there any references to any other parts or the main assembly delete them. You will now have to replace them with the datums from that part.
