Ok, I am having a problem in that when I bring an assembly into another assembly it will not let me locate the sub-assembly. It brings in the sub and shows it, but I can touch it to locate it.

What am I doing wrong?

Be sure that the sub isn't grounded,and/or right click the sub-assembly in the assembly tree and activate it before attempting mates

Hi,

does the placed assembly show any highlighted feature when
brought in? If so the part may already have all features
to be set by the appropriate relation stored within the file.
This is done by means of 'Capture Fit' on a former run.
The relation to be done next is already selected (not
with FlashFit) and the system waits for the target feature
to be selected

You could have checked 'Use Reduced Steps when placing parts'. This is located at Options in the ribbon bar.

There is Also an option in "Occurence properties" that can restrain you from selecting it. Simple unchecked it and it will be ok. If of course that is the problem.

Good luck
