Has anyone experienced finding asphaltene-like substances in water wash drum of kero merox unit? If yes, what are your findings on the likely causes?

Might want to try posting this down in the Petroleum refining forum since you don't seem to be getting much response here. My experience in refineries is too limited to advise you I'm afraid.
